ERM asked Mark Wijnberg Land Surveyors to undertake a level survey of ground water monitoring wells at various depots across the country belonging to Shell Southern Africa. These high accuracy surveys are not easy as depots are notorious for their high security and safety requirements. Not only does our staff have to wear appropriate PPE, we also have to attend hours of inductions and safety briefs for each site.
Our survey began in East London, then headed to Port Elizabeth, Kimberly, Bloemfontein, Kroonstad, Polokwane, Witbank, Nelspruit and finally Ladysmith. As is typical of the petrochemical industry, we had only 3 days to do the travelling, inductions, survey and final delivery!
